Job Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Technician, where your passion for animal care and technical expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners. In this energetic role, you will assist veterinarians with a wide range of clinical procedures, provide exceptional pet care, and ensure smooth clinic operations. Your dedication to animal health and well-being will shine through as you perform vital technical tasks, support pet owners, and uphold the highest standards of veterinary practice. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and maintaining a sterile environment using aseptic techniques. Perform animal restraint and handling to ensure safety for both pets and staff, utilizing your knowledge of animal physiology and behavior. Conduct laboratory tests, prepare samples, and operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines to aid in accurate diagnosis. Manage pet care routines including grooming, feeding, administering medications, and monitoring recovery post-procedure. Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and assisting with cleaning, scaling, and other dental treatments. Maintain detailed medical records, update patient charts with treatment notes, and document laboratory results accurately. Handle animal catheterization, intravenous injections, and other critical care procedures with precision and compassion. Qualifications Proven kennel experience combined with animal husbandry skills to ensure optimal pet comfort and safety. Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and animal physiology essential for effective communication and treatment. Experience in veterinary critical care settings or emergency situations demonstrating your ability to respond swiftly under pressure. Laboratory experience including sample collection, processing, and interpretation of results. Equine experience is a plus for clinics that handle larger animals or farm visits. Skilled in dog handling techniques, pet grooming, pet care routines, and dog training basics to support diverse client needs. Proficiency in x-ray operation along with understanding of aseptic technique to prevent infections during procedures. Excellent animal handling skills with a focus on restraint techniques for various species including small pets and larger animals when applicable. Pay:
$18.00 - $23.00 per hour
