Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Technician, where your passion for animal care and technical expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners. In this vital role, you will assist veterinarians with clinical procedures, provide compassionate animal handling, and ensure the highest standards of pet care. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help create a positive, efficient environment dedicated to animal health and well-being. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and maintaining a sterile environment using aseptic technique. Perform animal restraint and handling with confidence, ensuring safety for both animals and staff during examinations and treatments. Conduct laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostics to support accurate diagnoses. Maintain detailed records of animal treatments, laboratory results, and patient histories in compliance with clinic protocols. Support pet care activities including grooming, feeding, administering medications, and monitoring recovery post-procedure. Take and develop X-ray images while ensuring proper animal positioning and safety precautions. Assist with dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and performing pet dental cleanings under veterinarian supervision. Handle diverse animals including dogs, cats, equines (horses), and small mammals with skillful animal husbandry practices. Support critical care cases by monitoring vital signs, administering treatments, and providing compassionate animal care during recovery. Manage animal catheterization procedures and ensure proper aseptic techniques are followed at all times. Requirements Proven kennel experience along with strong animal handling skills across various species. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and veterinary critical care practices. Laboratory experience including sample collection and processing is highly desirable. Ability to perform animal restraint effectively while maintaining a calm demeanor under pressure. Excellent communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with veterinary staff and educate pet owners about animal care needs. Certification or licensing as a veterinary technician is preferred but not required; relevant veterinary experience will be considered in lieu of formal credentials Join us to be part of a passionate team dedicated to advancing animal health through energetic service delivery! Pay:
$19.00 - $23.00 per hour
