8 PM - 8AM Days:

Head Technician Role Overview:
The Veterinary Technician is an essential member of our veterinary hospital team, responsible for assisting veterinarians in the care and treatment of animals. This role involves performing a variety of technical procedures, maintaining medical records, ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the hospital environment, and engaging with clients to provide empathetic and transparent communication regarding their pets' health and treatment plans. The Veterinary Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the hospital and the well-being of our patients.Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:
Assist veterinarians in the examination, diagnosis, and treatment of animals, ensuring that each patient receives the highest standard of care. Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians, following strict protocols to ensure patient safety. Perform routine procedures such as wound care, suture removal, and dental cleanings, utilizing best practices to ensure patient comfort and recovery. Monitor animals during surgeries and provide comprehensive post-operative care, including pain management and wound monitoring. Ensure proper restraint and handling of animals during exams and procedures, prioritizing the safety and comfort of both the patient and the staff. Administer and monitor anesthesia under the direction of veterinarians, ensuring accurate dosing and patient stability. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients, ensuring detailed documentation of treatments, procedures, and patient progress.Laboratory and Diagnostic Procedures:
Collect and process laboratory samples, including blood, urine, and tissue, following stringent protocols to ensure sample integrity. Perform routine diagnostic tests, such as blood chemistry profiles, urinalysis, and X-rays, ensuring precise and timely results. Prepare samples for laboratory analysis and interpret test results, assisting veterinarians in forming accurate diagnoses. Assist veterinarians in interpreting and communicating diagnostic findings to clients, ensuring they understand their pet's health status and treatment options.Client Communication and Education:
Greet and communicate with clients in a professional and empathetic manner, building trust and ensuring a positive experience. Maintain clear and open communication with clients regarding their pets' health, medications, and treatment plans, providing thorough explanations and answering questions. Respond to client inquiries through phone, email, or in-person interactions, ensuring timely and accurate information is provided. Educate clients on preventative care, post-treatment care, and general animal health, empowering them to make informed decisions about their pets' well-being. Uphold the company's values of transparency and empathy in all client interactions, fostering a supportive and caring environment.Medical Equipment and Hospital Environment Management:
Operate and maintain veterinary equipment, including X-ray machines, anesthesia machines, endoscopes, ultrasounds, infusion pumps, and monitoring equipment, ensuring all devices are functioning correctly and safely. Clean, sterilize, and maintain surgical instruments and equipment, following strict protocols to prevent infection and ensure patient safety. Ensure the cleanliness and organization of examination rooms, treatment areas, restrooms and animal housing, creating a safe and sanitary environment for both patients and staff. Oversee laundry operations to maintain a hygienic environment, ensuring all patient towels, bedding, and gowns are clean and readily available. Maintain a clean and organized ICU, ensuring all equipment is functioning properly and all TVs are displaying Instinct. Regularly clean and organize cages and patient housing, ensuring a comfortable and sanitary environment for all animals. Ensure proper disposal of medical waste and sharps, following safety and regulatory guidelines to prevent contamination and injury.Hospital Cleanliness and Organization:
Ensure the cleanliness and organization of examination rooms, treatment areas, ICU, cages, laundry, dog kitchen and restrooms. Clean, sterilize, and maintain surgical instruments and equipment. Perform laundry duties, ensuring that all patient towels, bedding, and gowns are clean and readily available. Maintain a clean and organized ICU, ensuring all equipment is functioning properly and all TVs are displaying Instinct. Regularly clean and organize cages and patient housing, ensuring a comfortable and sanitary environment for all animals. Ensure proper disposal of medical waste and sharps, following safety and regulatory guidelines to prevent contamination and injury.Qualifications:
Two year of experience in an Emergency Room (ER) setting (preferred) Excellent knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and common medical conditions. Proficiency in performing veterinary technical procedures such as blood draws, catheter placement, and surgical assistance. Familiarity with medical terminology, laboratory procedures, and diagnostic imaging. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a dynamic environment. Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards animals and their owners. Physical stamina to handle animals of various sizes and potentially lift heavy objects. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and be on-call for emergencies as needed.Schedule:
