Certified Veterinary Technician- Job Description Position Summary At Parker Pet Clinic, our Certified Veterinary Technicians play a vital role in elevating the standard of care we provide to both our patients and their families. As a startup clinic, we are looking for team members who are excited to be a part of building something new, meaningful, and community-driven from the ground up. This position offers the opportunity to help shape the culture, medicine, and future of our hospital while working alongside a passionate team dedicated to exceptional patient care. Candidates should have experience, or a strong interest, in exotic animal medicine, including but not limited to birds, small mammals, reptiles, goats, pigs, and zoo or wildlife species. We are seeking technicians who are adaptable, compassionate, team-oriented, and eager to grow within a progressive and collaborative environment. Education and Experience AS or BS in Veterinary Technology — required Current CVT licensure in the State of Florida — or ability to obtain before start date-required Proficiency with veterinary practice software & computer systems — required Previous experience in a veterinary clinical environment — preferred Strong commitment to exceptional client service & patient care — required Experience or strong interest in exotic animal medicine — required Our Practice Values At Parker Pet Clinic, we believe exceptional veterinary medicine starts with compassion, honesty, and communication. Other Key Attributes Compassion and empathy for pets and their families Pride in high-quality work and attention to detail Adaptability in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Confidence in decision-making and critical thinking Desire to contribute to and strengthen our practice culture and growth Having the drive to be a part of a new business and wanting to grow with it Key Responsibilities & Patient Care/ Technical Skills Serve as a patient advocate, delivering compassionate veterinary nursing care Perform physical assessments and effectively communicate findings to veterinarians Follow low-stress handling methods Administer medications and treatments (IV, IM, SC, PO, topical, etc.) Calculate medication dosages accurately Perform diagnostics: lab sample collection, radiographs, cytology, urinalysis, etc. Use and maintain medical equipment (anesthesia machines, monitors, infusion pumps, etc.) Provide surgical preparation, anesthesia monitoring, and post-op recovery Assist with dentistry, dental radiographs, and dental charting Perform emergency procedures as directed (CPR, catheterization, airway support, etc) Comfortable in handling and holding exotic species Client Communication & Education Build trusting relationships with clients through clear communication and education Confidently discuss preventive care, treatment plans, and home-care instructions Create and review estimates with clients Admit and discharge patients while ensuring understanding and comfort Address client concerns with compassion and professionalism Hospital Operations & Team Support Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked treatment areas Follow all hospital protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements Support inventory management and controlled substance documentation Participate in team meetings, training, and continuous improvement efforts Contribute positively to Parker Pet Clinic's warm, community-focused culture Support veterinarians to enhance efficiency and flow throughout the day Take the initiative to anticipate needs and support the team proactively Complete other tasks that support daily operations and improve the client experience Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently Exposure to typical veterinary conditions: noise, odors, chemicals, radiation (within regulatory limits), and possible bites/scratches Ability to stand, sit, or move for extended periods Flexibility with scheduling based on hospital needs Ability to communicate clearly with clients and team members Ability to maintain a calm, professional demeanor in stressful moments

From $23.00 per hour
