Job Description
We value our techs so much that we had them write this ad! We are a team of vets, techs and receptionists who all have one goal in mind: helping pets live long, happy lives. Here are a few things our staff said they love:
- Longer appointment times to spend with pets and their people (average 40 minute DVM appts)
- Low-stress environment. We take into consideration each pet's mental/emotional needs, just like their physical needs
- 2 day (part time) 4-day (full time) work week, with predictable schedule. Open Monday-Fri (no weekends!)
- We work diligently to get everyone out by their scheduled shift's end
- 1 hour lunch breaks
- Patients are never kept overnight, or boarded
- Clients are compliant, and very open to our high-quality medicine
- We like to teach AND learn about different ways tasks can be done
- Our staff, including management, has each other's backs. We support one another no matter what
- Technicians are utilized to their full capacity, and are encouraged to make decisions for themselves
- Our staff bring their pets to our doctors for medical care, and trust them wholeheartedly
- Our team's culture of teamwork, inclusion and respect is deeply guarded
- We are small, but mighty! West Park Animal Hospital opened its doors a little over 7 years ago. Since then, we have been able to grow our client base throughout the Tampa/Westchase community. The clients we serve really care about their pets, and want what's best for them. We are looking to add more experience to our growing technician team! Key skills we are looking for:
- Solid venipuncture and IV catheter placement
- Efficacy and confidence in your communication skills and ability to relay the "why" of recommendations and care to owners
- An understanding of low-stress restraint and care techniques (not a deal breaker; we can teach you!)
- General knowledge of pharmaceuticals, preventatives, vaccines and common drug dosing
- Surgical/anesthesia monitoring experience is a huge plus
- Dentistry and dental radiograph experience is a huge plus
- Strong focus on teamwork and reliability as a team member
- Ability to run common diagnostics including imaging and laboratory testing
- Veterinary technician certification is a huge plus!
