Job Description

Cedar Bay Veterinary Clinic is committed to bringing exceptional patient care to each of our clients. We are seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our team at our newly built hospital who works well with others, takes responsibility for the quality of their work, has a passion for learning and loves working with people. Applicant will work 4 week days per week for full time and 2-3 for part time. Primary duties include but are not limited to: Obtain and record patient histories in medical record. Collect feces and urine, perform venipuncture, insert intravenous catheters in dogs and cats, perform routine lab procedures and tests, including stool exams, ear cytology and urinalyses, assist in surgery, perform dental scaling and dental radiographs, anesthesia monitoring and recovery, prepare and sterilize surgery packs, and perform anesthetic equipment maintenance. Label drug prescriptions, and administer medications and treatments by injection or orally. Provide nursing care and observation for injured or ill animals. Position animals and take radiographs. Restrain pets during doctor exams. Help maintain inventory of pharmaceuticals and hospital supplies. Light housekeeping duties. Communicate with pet owners and answer questions regarding medications, prescription diets, and cost of services. This position requires ability to lift, bend and crouch on floor at times. Ensure that actions support the hospital, the doctors and the practice philosophy. Preference will be given to individuals with an associates or bachelor's degree, those who are certified as LVT or RVT and those with at least 2 years of full time experience.
Pay:
$24.00 - $26.00 per hour
