This is a high-acuity, non-entry-level role designed for technicians who thrive in fast-paced emergency environments, rapid triage, and critical patient stabilization . You'll work alongside emergency clinicians and specialty teams , managing a wide variety of urgent and life-threatening cases. Hiring Timeline:
Spring-Summer 2026 Emergency Technician Responsibilities As a Veterinary Emergency Technician , you will play a critical role in triage, stabilization, and treatment of emergent cases . Triage & Patient Intake Perform rapid triage assessments of incoming patients Identify and prioritize life-threatening conditions Obtain accurate patient histories and relay critical information to clinicians Ensure efficient patient flow through the ER Emergency Care & Stabilization Assist in stabilization of: Trauma cases Respiratory distress Toxicities Shock and critical illness
Perform:
Venipuncture and catheter placement Fluid therapy initiation Emergency medication administration Support urgent procedures and diagnostics Procedural & Anesthesia Support Assist with sedation and anesthesia for emergency procedures Monitor patients using: ECG, pulse oximetry, capnography Blood pressure monitoring Prepare patients for surgery or ICU transfer Emergency Response Assist in CPR and code events (RECOVER guidelines preferred) Respond rapidly and effectively to emergency situations Maintain composure and efficiency under pressure Team Collaboration Work closely with: Emergency clinicians ICU and specialty teams Ensure seamless case handoff and continuity of care Communicate clearly in fast-paced, high-pressure situations Clinical Excellence Maintain accurate, detailed medical records Ensure compliance with ER protocols and safety standards Maintain treatment areas, crash carts, and emergency equipment Support a highly organized and efficient ER workflow Who We're Looking For Required Experience 2+ years of experience in: Emergency, ICU, or high-volume veterinary practice Strong background in: Patient handling and clinical nursing skills Experience with: Venipuncture, catheter placement, and emergency procedures Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, unpredictable environment Preferred Qualifications Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) credentials (highly valued, not required) Prior experience in: Emergency or specialty hospital setting Familiarity with: Triage protocols and emergency workflows
