Job Description

The Ringgold Animal Hospital has an immediate opening for an experienced, Georgia
  • licensed veterinary technician.
The successful applicant is outgoing, has a professional appearance, and has a minimum of 2 years of recent experience as a licensed technician in a general small animal practice. You must be proficient at placing IV catheters, administering IV fluids, inducing and maintaining anesthesia (including intubation), cleaning and polishing teeth, collecting laboratory specimens, reading skin and ear cytologies, and taking radiographs. The applicant must also be comfortable interacting with clients in exam room settings and communicating with other clinics. The clinic has been paperless since opening, so computer competency is a must. Familiarity with AviMark, especially its integrated inventory management, is a big plus. Likewise, experience managing a VetCove online pharmacy is a big plus. Starting pay is $23.00

00 per hour, based upon experience. Full-time employees receive paid holidays after 1 month and may elect to participate in a personal health insurance plan (of which the clinic pays 85% of the premium) upon completion of a three-month probationary period. Paid time off begins after one year of full-time employment. Travel, time off, lodging, and registration for continuing education at statewide, regional, or national conferences is provided as required to maintain licensure. Highly experienced veterinary assistants who have served as veterinary technicians in busy clinics but are not licensed may be considered at a lower hourly rate. We are a progressive, 2-doctor, AAHA-certified small animal practice. We offer medical and surgical services only (no grooming or boarding). The clinic is open MTTF from 8:30 to 5:30 and Sat from 8:30-1:30. Weekly hours for the position include all weekdays we are open and every other Saturday.
