Veterinary Assitant

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care for animals in a veterinary clinic setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal welfare, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Veterinary Assistant will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians in delivering high-quality medical care to our patients while ensuring a positive experience for pet owners. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations and procedures. Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinary staff. Provide compassionate care to animals, including handling and restraint techniques. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including surgical areas and examination rooms. Perform basic laboratory tasks such as collecting samples and running tests. Support front desk operations, including scheduling appointments and managing patient records. Educate pet owners on proper animal care, medication administration, and post-operative instructions. Monitor animal patients during recovery periods, ensuring their comfort and well-being. Utilize aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection. Qualifications Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is preferred but not required. Knowledge of animal anatomy, husbandry, and handling techniques is essential. Familiarity with medication administration and veterinary critical care practices is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members. Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail.
