Job Description
Overview In this role, you will support veterinarians with a wide range of clinical duties, ensuring our animal patients receive compassionate, thorough, and expert treatment. Your expertise will help create a positive environment for pets and their owners while advancing your career in veterinary medicine. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your skills in a fast-paced, caring setting dedicated to animal health and well-being. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures with precision and care Perform animal restraint and handling to ensure safety for both animals and staff during treatments and examinations Conduct laboratory tests, prepare samples, and operate diagnostic equipment including X-ray machines to aid in accurate diagnosis Maintain medical records, update patient files, and document procedures following aseptic techniques Support pet care, and animal husbandry activities to promote overall health and comfort Administer medications, perform animal catheterization, and assist with dental procedures using veterinary terminology and dental terminology knowledge Handle dogs and cats with expertise in animal physiology and anatomy knowledge Requirements Valid certification as a Veterinary Technician with current licensure or registration where applicable Proven experience working with animals in a veterinary or pet care setting; kennel experience is highly valued Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and physiology to support clinical procedures effectively Hands-on experience with laboratory testing, X-ray operation, and aseptic techniques to ensure accurate diagnostics Ability to handle dogs confidently through training in dog handling and dog training techniques; experience with equine handling is a plus Excellent animal handling skills including restraint, pet care, and pet grooming techniques Familiarity with veterinary critical care practices and laboratory procedures for comprehensive patient support We're committed to utilizing your expertise while supporting your professional growth.
