Job Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Technician and become a vital part of delivering exceptional animal care! In this energetic role, you will assist veterinarians with medical procedures, provide compassionate pet care, and ensure the well-being of a diverse range of animals. Your expertise in animal handling, laboratory techniques, and veterinary terminology will help create a positive experience for pets and their owners alike. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and maintaining a sterile environment using aseptic techniques. Perform animal restraint and handling to ensure safety for both pets and staff during treatments or examinations. Conduct laboratory tests, prepare samples, and interpret results to support accurate diagnoses. Manage pet care routines including feeding, grooming, pet grooming, and administering medications as directed. Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and assisting with pet dental care. Handle X-ray imaging processes, including animal positioning and equipment operation, to obtain clear diagnostic images. Maintain detailed medical records, update patient charts, and document treatment plans accurately for veterinary critical care cases. Assist with animal husbandry tasks such as cleaning kennels, monitoring animal physiology, and ensuring proper nutrition. Support pet owners through education on animal anatomy knowledge, pet care best practices, and behavioral training like dog training techniques. Contribute to equine (horse) care when applicable by assisting with handling and basic veterinary procedures specific to large animals. Experience Candidates should possess prior veterinary technician experience or equivalent training in animal care settings. Experience working with dogs in kennel environments or handling animals during critical care situations is highly valued. Familiarity with veterinary terminology—including anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques—is essential for success in this role. Additional skills that will set you apart include laboratory experience, knowledge of dental terminology, pet grooming skills, and proficiency with X-ray equipment. A background in equine or large animal handling is a plus but not mandatory. Pay:
$15.50 - $19.00 per hour
