Duties Assist veterinarians with clinical examinations, diagnostics, and surgical procedures, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and safety protocols. Perform animal restraint and handling for examinations, treatments, and diagnostic procedures across a variety of species including dogs, cats, and equine patients. Conduct laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostic procedures to support accurate diagnoses. Maintain detailed medical records and document all patient interactions with precision and professionalism. Prepare animals for surgery or diagnostic imaging by applying appropriate animal husbandry techniques and ensuring proper anesthesia administration. Manage pet care tasks including grooming, feeding, and administering medications while maintaining a compassionate approach. Operate radiography equipment to obtain high-quality X-ray images for diagnostic purposes. Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and performing cleaning, and scaling. Provide exceptional client education regarding veterinary care, and prevention of disease and parasites. Maintain a clean, organized treatment area while adhering to strict infection control standards. Skills Extensive kennel experience combined with animal handling expertise across multiple species. Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and critical care practices. Proficiency in laboratory techniques, X-ray imaging, and aseptic surgical preparation. Familiarity with pet grooming, dog training, pet care routines, and animal restraint methods. Ability to perform animal catheterization and administer medications accurately within veterinary protocols. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and educating pet owners effectively. Demonstrated experience in veterinary technician roles with a focus on animal husbandry and emergency care situations. Knowledge of dental terminology relevant to veterinary dentistry procedures. Ability to handle animals safely during complex procedures such as animal catheterization or restraint during diagnostics or treatments.
