Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Veterinary Technician to join our veterinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in animal care and veterinary procedures, demonstrating proficiency in animal handling, laboratory techniques, and clinical support. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality medical care, assisting veterinarians with diagnostics and treatments, and ensuring the well-being of our diverse animal patients. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and maintaining a sterile environment using aseptic techniques. Perform animal restraint and handling to ensure safety for both animals and staff during examinations or treatments. Conduct laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostic procedures to support accurate diagnoses. Maintain medical records, documenting patient histories, treatments, and laboratory results with precision. Support pet care activities including grooming, feeding, administering medications, and monitoring recovery processes. Manage animal husbandry tasks such as feeding schedules, cleaning kennels, and ensuring proper housing conditions. Assist with dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and performing basic dental cleanings or preparations. Handle animal catheterization and other minor surgical assisting duties while adhering to strict aseptic protocols. Operate diagnostic imaging equipment such as X-ray machines to aid in the diagnosis of various conditions. Contribute to emergency veterinary critical care situations by providing immediate support under supervision. Experience Prior kennel experience with a strong understanding of animal husbandry practices. Veterinary technician experience with knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal physiology. Hands-on experience with dog handling, training, pet grooming, and pet care routines. Laboratory experience including sample collection, analysis, and interpretation of results. Veterinary critical care experience demonstrating ability to respond effectively in urgent situations. Proficiency in X-ray operation and interpretation enhances diagnostic capabilities. Knowledge of animal anatomy is essential for accurate restraint and medical procedures. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a veterinary team while maintaining high standards of animal care. Pay:
$15.00 - $20.00 per hour
