Full time and part time hours are available. Previous animal hospital experience is preferred. Technicians assist in multiple procedures providing medical care for animals and assisting doctors. Technicians need to be proficient in patient restraint, IV catheters, blood draws, assisting in surgery, in-house diagnostic testing, digital radiography, and periodontal therapy. Client education and strong phone skills are required. Experience with veterinary software is beneficial. This position requires a working knowledge of pharmaceutical drugs, common diseases; their symptoms, means of transmission, treatment and prevention, and other basic preventative healthcare recommendations. Veterinary Technicians are detail-oriented people who can make good decisions, respond quickly and calmly to crises, and maintain high standards of patient care. Technicians need to communicate clearly with the doctors, other hospital personnel and clients to ensure that patients receive the care that they need. Salary commensurate with experience.
Position Requirements:
Employee needs to be self-motivated and able stay on task Employee needs to be able to multi-task Employee must have proper phone etiquette, and be able to communicate well with co-workers and clients Employee must be able to stand and walk up to 8 hours. Employee is required to sit, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl Employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50lbs without assistance Employees will be required to restrain and care for unruly/aggressive dogs and cats
