Duties Assist veterinarian during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and maintaining a sterile environment using aseptic techniques. Perform animal restraint and handling with confidence, ensuring safety for both animals and staff during examinations or treatments. Conduct laboratory tests, prepare samples, and operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines to aid in accurate diagnosis. Administer medications, including vaccinations. Maintain detailed records of procedures, treatments, and laboratory results to ensure compliance with veterinary standards. Experience Prior technician experience or hands-on animal handling experience in a veterinary setting is required. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and physiology to support clinical activities effectively. Laboratory experience including sample preparation and diagnostic testing is a plus. Demonstrated veterinary technician experience involving aseptic techniques, animal restraint, and critical care procedures is preferred.
