Registered Veterinary Technician/Nurse

We are seeking a registered veterinary technician who desires to be a team member with a great dedicated staff. New graduates welcome! We practice in a culture that takes care of our staff and patients in a well-equipped practice including digital X-ray, digital dental X-ray, ultrasound, IDEXX laboratory equipment, therapeutic laser, and high-speed Dental-aire machines. We stress case work-ups and quality medicine and surgery, and an interest in pocket pets and exotics is a plus. Qualifications:

• Veterinary experience
• Veterinary technician experience
• Animal handling and restraint skills
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal anatomy
• Certification as a Registered Veterinary Technician/Nurse
• Proficiency in animal catheterization and pet care
• Familiarity with dental terminology and laboratory procedures Job duties include:
• Collecting and recording accurate patient history, TPR, and performing brief exam.
• Assisting the doctor with restraint and treatment of the patients in a safe manner.
• Selecting and administering the correct vaccines in the correct locations as instructed by DVM.
• Managing hospitalized patients.
• Filling/refilling prescriptions.
• Safely taking radiographs.
• Creating anesthetic protocols and prepping for surgery. Assisting in surgery.
• Properly monitoring anesthesia patients and recovering.
• Maintaining instruments and equipment.
• Cleaning, stocking, inventory control.
• Running and preparing lab samples.
