We value our employees and love to be a part of their professional growth and development. We are also connected to Locust Trace Agriscience Center. This creates the unique opportunity to work with high school students that have chosen the veterinary assistant pathway. You will assist veterinarian(s) with the daily operations. We are looking for a candidate who has experience working in the veterinary field (preferly with exotics) and understands how to properly care for pets. The right candidate will be comfortable working in a changing environment. Will also need to have strong interpersonal skills as they will be interacting with pet owners, as well as other members of the veterinary team. We are hiring for a part-time Triage/Treatment Technician with availability Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. However we are willing to train an assistant with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn. A successful employee will be a friendly, fast learner who can effectively and efficiently prioritize, multitask, as well as demonstrate compassion during all routine, surgical or critical care situations.
Responsibilities:
Assist veterinarians with animal exams, surgeries, and other medical procedures Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians Perform diagnostic tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and radiography Educate clients on animal care, nutrition, husbandry and disease prevention Monitor patients during and after medical procedures and report any changes in their condition Maintain medical records and ensure accuracy and completeness Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Requirements:
Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure preferred, but not required Exotic experience preferred, but not required Must be 18 years or older to apply High School Diploma Experience working in a veterinary hospital or clinic Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Pay:
$12.00 - $17.00 per hour
