Position Overview Join our team as a Part-Time Weekend Veterinary Technician who supports the veterinarians and technicians in their daily tasks by cleaning and maintaining equipment, feeding, exercising and grooming patients, preparing and sanitizing surgery suites, restraining and handling patients, and clerical and administrative work. They deliver quality care for all patients and provide exceptional service. Bluegrass Equine Surgery (BES) in Versailles, Kentucky, is an equine veterinary practice providing exceptional client service and primary medical care in the central Kentucky region. We are building a diverse, supportive, and driven team.

BES is seeking to immediately fill the position of Part-Time Weekend Veterinary Technician.

Hours:

Part-Time, around 20 hours a week, Saturday and Sunday Reports to : Assigned doctor, Hospital Manager The BES Weekend Veterinary Technician accompanies and assists the doctors with all aspects of patient care in the field. DUTIES General Assist in daily procedures such assisting veterinarians in ultrasounds, foal work, radiographs, emergencies, sales work and helping organizing and cleaning the vehicle Willingness to be flexible on schedule Communicate with other doctors and administrative staff Comfortable with technology and creating bills on tablets and writing paper tickets Ability to work outside in varying weather conditions Comfortable spending a lot of time in a vehicle Medical Stock trucks according to doctor preference Break down tricks at the end of the say Assist with euthanizing Assist in emergencies (colics, lacerations, etc.) Clean and organize truck at the end of the day Other Model professionalism and ethical practices

EXPERIENCE

Interest in equine veterinary practice Self-motivated, proactive individual Comfortable responding to direction and instruction Works well independently and as part of a team Has handled and worked with horses of all ages Prefer 1 year of equine technician experience

Feel and express a genuine liking for animals and for working in an animal-care environment Promote cooperative working environment among staff members; understand the value of teamwork; show enthusiasm and willingness to perform as necessary to help the practice functioning as a unit Understand and carry out oral and written directions Promote continuous quality improvement Perform other duties as assigned Display discretion, tact, and diplomacy with staff members and clients Be flexible in attitude and work habits.
