Job Description
Overview Neponset Animal Hospital is a well-established, family owned and operated, multi-doctor veterinary practice dedicated to providing high-quality care for pets in a compassionate and client-focused environment. Our team of experienced veterinarians and support staff work together to ensure pets receive the best possible care, while offering a positive and supportive workplace for our team. We are looking for a skilled and passionate Veterinary Technician to join our growing team.
Key Responsibilities Patient Care:
Assist in the examination and treatment of animals, monitor their condition, and provide nursing care under the direction of the veterinarian.Surgical Assistance:
Prepare animals for surgery, assist in sterile surgeries, monitor anesthesia, and provide post-operative care.Diagnostics:
Perform in-house laboratory tests (e.g., blood work, urinalysis), and assist in diagnostic imaging (X-rays, ultrasound).Treatment Administration:
Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian, and provide detailed documentation.Client Communication:
Educate pet owners on pet care, treatment options, preventive health measures, and proper use of medications.IV & Blood Collection:
Place intravenous catheters, draw blood samples, and administer fluids and medications as needed.Inventory & Equipment Maintenance:
Maintain inventory of medical supplies, ensuring proper stock levels and assisting with the upkeep of clinic equipment.Emergency Care:
Provide emergency support in critical cases, assisting the veterinarian with stabilizing patients.Team Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with veterinarians, technicians, and client care staff to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate medical records for all patients and ensure compliance with clinic protocols.Qualifications Education & Certification:
Veterinary Technician certification (CVT, LVT, or RVT) preferred, but not required. High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience in a multi-doctor practice is highly preferred.Experience:

2 years experience as a Veterinary Technician, with a strong foundation in animal care, clinical procedures, and diagnostics.Preferred:
Surgical assisting and anesthesia monitoring experience.Skills & Traits:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Compassionate and patient-centered approach to both animals and clients. Ability to work well independently and as part of a team. Detail-oriented and organized with excellent record-keeping skills.
