Veterinary Lab Technician

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Veterinary Laboratory Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for obtaining and preparing samples as well as performing in house laboratory tests. You will support diagnostic testing, laboratory procedures, and animal handling to ensure the highest standards of veterinary care. Your expertise will help veterinarians diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions, contributing to the well-being of animals and the satisfaction of pet owners. Duties Perform laboratory tests in house as well as preparing samples for reference lab testing including blood work, urinalysis, cytology, and other diagnostic procedures with precision and attention to detail. Assist veterinarians and technicians with animal restraint, catheterization, and sample collection to ensure safe and effective procedures. Maintain accurate records of laboratory results, animal treatments, and procedural documentation in compliance with clinic protocols. Support animal husbandry activities such as feeding, grooming, and cleaning enclosures to promote optimal health and comfort. Assist with veterinary critical care activities by monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and supporting emergency procedures when needed. Experience Previous kennel experience or hands-on animal care experience is highly desirable. Familiarity with veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy enhances your ability to contribute effectively. Laboratory experience or veterinary technician background provides a strong foundation for performing diagnostic tests accurately.

Pay:

$16.00 - $19.00 per hour
