Lead Veterinary Technician

Needed for a busy small animal practice located in New Market MD. We are looking for a dynamic experienced veterinary technician.

Qualifications:

Applicants should have at least 1-3 year of consistent employment at a veterinary hospital, clinic, emergency hospital, or specialty practice as a functioning as technician. High School Diploma/GED or equivalent. Excellent listening and communication skills. Experience with Infinity Veterinary Practice Management software or other Veterinary Practice Management software. Ability to multitask at all times. Strong verbal and written communication skill. Proven decision making skills to choose the most appropriate course of action. The ability to into problem solve. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Perform patient treatments Exam room history Animal restraint Take blood samples Place IV catheters and administer IV fluids Perform x-ray imaging Perform diagnostic tests (CBC, Chemistries, Urinalysis, Skin and ear cytology) Client Education General Animal Care Updating appointment book as need for the doctors. Customer service functions, including: greeting visitors, answering multi line telephone system, Scheduling appointments. Presenting and explaining fees, including processing payments. Taking accurate phone messages from clients for doctor call backs. Answering questions regarding products and services, including educating clients on general animal wellness (heartworm prevention, vaccine protocols, and flea & tick control).
