Job Description

Veterinary Technician (1 year exp req) Come work in a place where learning is life-long!! WFAH is a AAHA-accredited animal hospital who is searching for an registered or experienced technician, who is both self-motivated and motivating to others to foster an environment of excellence. We are looking for a dynamic experienced technician with excellent listening and communication skills, decision making skills to choose the most appropriate course of action and the ability to multitask. We strongly feel it is our job and purpose to concern ourselves with every aspect of a pet's health and quality of life, from keeping track of the simplest of the most complex details while that pet is under our care. Providing the utmost in quality patient/client customer.
Job description:
The candidate should have the ambition needed to grow with a hospital and be a long-term member of a team that strives for excellence. At WFAH, technicians assist the doctors and managers in performing the daily, technical tasks of the hospital, including but not limited to:
  • Patient care (for appointments, surgical care, boarding, etc.)
  • Phlebotomy
  • Surgical prep and post-op care, anesthesia monitoring
  • Radiology, including dental radiographs
  • In house laboratory testing
  • Zoonotic disease and infection control within and between species.
  • Client education
  • Proficiency in the latest veterinary medical standards, such as vaccine protocol, preventatives, annual testing, emergency care as appropriate for technicians.
  • Maintain cleanliness and neatness
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Opening and closing procedures
  • Some weekends (Saturday and Sunday)
