Job Description
Cumberland Animal Clinic is looking to add a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Technician to our team. At our Rarebreed clinic, you can help reimagine the veterinary experience in your community. Our relaxed environment means you'll be comfortable keeping your visit pleasant with exceptional veterinary care. As part of our team, you'll work with the latest technology, and collaborate with a positive team to deliver the highest quality of care to the pet patients we all love. Cumberland Animal Clinic is a state-of-the-art practice, located in Cumberland, Maine. We are a three-doctor practice specializing in preventative care and wellness, medical case diagnostics, surgery, dentistry, and imaging. We also offer a fully stock veterinary pharmacy, house call capability and emergency care. In addition, our 7000 sq. foot facility is designed with the environment in mind; it features green insulation, environmentally friendly heating and cooling, energy efficient lighting and a solar farm onsite that provides the bulk of the hospital's power! Schedule:
30-40 hours per weekWHAT YOU'LL DO
Provide compassionate care to pet patients and their loved ones Keep accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy Prepare and maintain the exam rooms and treatment areas Perform physical assessments and record your observations Safely handle patients during exams and treatments Prepare estimates for procedures and discusses financial commitments with clients Explain necessary follow-up and home care instructions Stock clinic treatment area and exam rooms, and inform inventory manager when supplies need to be ordered Assist the Veterinarian in medical, surgical, and dental procedures (be comfortable with blood draws; prepare patients for surgery; administer anesthesia; monitor patients during surgery and recovery; administer fluids) Care for all surgical materials and keep the operating room properly stocked and prepared for surgery Pharmacy skills, including protocols for filling in-house Monitors vitals by hand and with equipment Sample collection and processing for in-house and reference labs Communicates within the team, proactively advocating for their patient's needs Our Comprehensive benefit package includes: Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with a total company match up to 4%, after 6 months of employment Generous paid time off and flexible scheduling Continuing education allowance and professional development support Mental Health Resources Company paid bonding leave or applicable state provided bonding leave Perks for Your Pets Too!
