Job Summary Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Licensed Veterinary Technician, where your expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of animals and their owners. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate animal care, assist veterinarians with medical procedures, and ensure a high standard of clinical excellence. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help create a positive environment for pets and their families while supporting the smooth operation of our veterinary practice. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your veterinary technician skills in a fast-paced, pet-centered setting. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures, ensuring all protocols are followed with precision. Perform animal restraint and handling using humane techniques to facilitate safe and effective treatment. Conduct laboratory tests, prepare samples, and interpret results to aid in accurate diagnoses. Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infections and ensure patient safety. Manage pet care routines including grooming, feeding, and administering medications as prescribed. Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology, performing animal dentistry tasks, and assisting with pet oral health care. Handle animal catheterization, venipuncture, and other technical procedures with confidence and professionalism. Maintain detailed medical records, update patient charts accurately, and communicate effectively with pet owners about treatment plans. Requirements Valid license as a Veterinary Technician or equivalent credential in accordance with local regulations. Proven experience working with animals in a veterinary or pet care setting; kennel experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and critical care practices. Hands-on experience with laboratory procedures, X-ray imaging, animal restraint techniques, and aseptic methods. Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures related to veterinary dentistry. Ability to handle dogs confidently, including dog training and dog handling skills; experience with equine or large animals is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining compassion for animals and their owners. Strong communication skills to educate clients about pet health needs effectively. Pay:
$22.00 - $27.00 per hour
