At BluePearl the role of a Veterinary Technician is an exciting, fulfilling opportunity that will allow you to utilize the skills that you have worked so hard to gain. We will also give you the chance to expand and grow your skills, all while working alongside some of the most talented veterinary professionals. As an Ophthalmology Veterinary Technician, you will: Perform basic ophthalmic diagnostic tests (tear quantity, glaucoma testing, ulcer testing) and help hold patients for detailed ocular exam Perform advanced ophthalmic diagnostic testing (retinal electrical function, etc.) Set-up and assist with procedures and surgeries that restore comfort and vision ranging from outpatient procedures to basic and complex surgeries Outpatient procedures: diamond burr debridement (to stimulate corneal healing), CO2 laser (to remove eyelid margin masses) Surgical procedures including eyelid surgeries, cherry eye surgery, corneal grafts, cataract surgery, retinal surgery, glaucoma surgery For patients undergoing sedation or anesthesia, place IV catheters and fluids, administer drugs through various route, perform and monitor sedation/anesthesia (with advances skills including constant rate infusions, paralytics, ventilation, etc.) Anesthesia training is available with help or our anesthesia specialist Help organize and maintain specialized ophthalmic equipment and supplies Be the frontline in educating clients on their pet's ocular disease and care Why BluePearl?
