We are committed to providing high-quality, compassionate veterinary care while building lasting relationships with our clients and patients. We care for dogs, cats, and a variety of small mammals and exotic companion animals, including rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, mice, hedgehogs, sugar gliders, and ferrets. Our clinic offers wellness care, medical exams, surgery, dentistry, digital radiology, ultrasound, in-house diagnostics, health certificates, client education, and preventive care. We are looking for a dependable and compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician who wants to be part of a small, supportive team where technical skills are valued and utilized. Position Summary The Registered Veterinary Technician will assist the veterinarian with patient care, diagnostics, surgery, dentistry, anesthesia monitoring, laboratory work, radiology, client education, and daily clinical workflow. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on patient care, takes pride in accurate medical records, communicates well with clients and team members, and wants to work in a family-owned practice environment. Because we are a smaller clinic, every team member plays an important role in patient care, client service, and overall clinic operations.
Responsibilities Responsibilities may include:
Assisting the veterinarian with exams, treatments, procedures, surgery, and dentistry Monitoring anesthesia and recovering surgical and dental patients Performing venipuncture and catheter placement Running in-house laboratory testing Preparing and assisting with digital radiographs Administering medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian Preparing prescriptions, discharge instructions, and client education materials Educating clients on medications, preventive care, post-operative care, and follow-up recommendations Safely handling and restraining dogs, cats, and small exotic mammals Maintaining accurate and complete medical records Cleaning, stocking, and maintaining exam rooms, treatment areas, surgery, dentistry, and kennels Supporting the veterinarian and team with daily patient flow Helping maintain a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment Qualifications Required Registered Veterinary Technician license or current eligibility for RVT credentialing Previous veterinary clinic experience Strong animal handling and patient care skills Ability to communicate professionally with clients and team members Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented Ability to work well in a small team environment Willingness to assist in multiple areas of the clinic as needed Preferred Experience with anesthesia monitoring Experience with dental procedures and surgical preparation Experience with digital radiology Experience with in-house diagnostics Experience with ezyVet or other veterinary practice management software Comfort working with small mammals or exotic companion animals Interest in client education and long-term patient care Why Join Family Pet Medical Clinic?
