Job Description

Animal Care Associate Lake Norman Humane is seeking dynamic individuals with a passion for animal welfare to join our mission in helping animals and the people that love them! This is a Part-Time position with potential to grow with the organization.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE WILL BE CONSIDERED.
Responsibilities include but not limited to: Providing daily care, feeding, enrichment, training, and exercise for animals in our care. Administering medication, if necessary. Monitoring animals for changes in health and behavior. Working closely with a dedicated team of hardworking LKNH volunteers. Providing excellent customer service to guests and clients. Maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Providing assistance and counseling to prospective adopters via phone, online, and in-person at the shelter and adoption events, utilizing conversation-based and judgment free methodologies.
Requirements:
•Only applicants with animal care experience will be considered at this time •A positive, "whatever it takes" attitude; Graduation from high school or GED equivalent; Professional, hands-on, animal care experience in an animal welfare environment - shelter, veterinary practice, sanctuary etc.; Strong communication skills, with particular emphasis on customer service; Ability to work independently and to complete daily activities according to work schedule; Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced and challenging work environment; Ability to stay focused on the job at hand; Ability to work cohesively with coworkers; Ability to adhere to strict disease management and safety protocols; Must have a valid driver's license & reliable mode of transportation; Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evening, weekends, and holidays as needed; For more about Lake Norman Humane please visit: https://www.lakenormanhumane.org/ To Apply please submit your cover letter and resume via Indeed.com Please no phone or walk-in inquiries at this time.
