Licensed Veterinary Technician

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Providing basic health care for all animals being sheltered in the facility Conducting health examinations and diagnostic procedures Assisting the licensed veterinarian during operations Maintaining medical supplies and equipment Administering medications and vaccinations Conducting behavioral assessments Performing basic first aid for animals, including the bandaging/wrapping of wounds Maintaining medical records and appropriate documentation Performing basic grooming procedures, including nail trimmings

Position Requirements:

Friendly and outgoing personality Must be able to follow instructions and communicate well with veterinarian and other employees Bending, kneeling, physical lifting (must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds) Must have a passion for animals and animal welfare Must be reliable and punctual Must be able to multitask and work in a fast paced environment Ability to work independently and in a team setting Ability to effectively handle and control animals Ability to accurately evaluate the health and condition of animals Must be detail oriented and organized Ability to read animal body language/behaviors
