The Opportunity We are seeking a skilled and motivated Veterinary Surgery & Anesthesia Technician to join our growing Surgery Department. This role is ideal for a technician who thrives in a fast-paced specialty environment, enjoys the complexity of advanced surgical cases, and is committed to providing exceptional patient care from induction through recovery. You will work alongside board-certified surgeons, anesthesiologists, and highly trained nursing professionals while caring for a wide range of soft tissue, orthopedic, neurologic, and emergency surgical patients. What You'll DoAnesthesia & Patient Safety Calculate, administer, and monitor anesthetic protocols tailored to individual patients. Continuously assess anesthetic depth and physiologic parameters during procedures. Identify and respond appropriately to changes in patient status. Assist with pain management and multimodal analgesia plans. Support smooth inductions, recoveries, and patient transfers. Surgical Nursing Prepare patients and surgical suites for procedures. Maintain aseptic technique and surgical sterility. Assist surgeons during procedures through instrument handling, patient positioning, and procedural support. Prepare and maintain surgical equipment and instrumentation. Patient Care Deliver compassionate nursing care before, during, and after surgery. Monitor hospitalized surgical patients and communicate concerns promptly. Advocate for patient comfort, safety, and well-being at every stage of care. Collaboration & Communication Partner closely with technicians, assisstants, and surgeons, anesthesiologists, ER teams, ICU teams, and specialty departments. Accurately document treatments, anesthetic records, and patient observations. Communicate effectively with team members and contribute to a positive, supportive culture. What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications Previous experience in veterinary surgery, anesthesia, emergency, or specialty medicine. Strong understanding of anesthetic monitoring, pharmacology, and patient assessment. Ability to remain calm, focused, and adaptable in high-acuity situations. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Commitment to patient safety and high standards of medical care. Preferred Qualifications Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, or RVT). Experience with advanced anesthesia monitoring equipment. Experience in specialty or referral medicine.
