In this energetic role, you will assist veterinarians with clinical procedures, provide exceptional pet care, and ensure a smooth workflow within a fast-paced, compassionate environment. Your dedication to animal health and well-being will shine through as you support diagnostic, surgical, and nursing activities, contributing to positive outcomes for every patient. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians with medical examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures using veterinary terminology and aseptic techniques. Perform animal restraint and handling with confidence, ensuring safety for both animals and staff. Conduct laboratory tests, prepare samples, and operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines to aid in accurate diagnosis. Manage animal husbandry tasks including feeding, cleaning, grooming, and monitoring vital signs to promote optimal pet health. Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and assisting with pet dental care. Maintain detailed medical records, update patient charts, and document procedures accurately following veterinary protocols. Handle dog training and pet grooming activities to improve animal behavior and comfort during visits. Assist with animal catheterization, laboratory sample collection, and other technical tasks requiring veterinary technician experience. Support animal physiology assessments and knowledge of animal anatomy to ensure proper care during procedures. Maintain a clean, organized workspace adhering to aseptic techniques to prevent infections and ensure safety standards. Requirements Previous kennel experience or hands-on animal handling skills are highly valued. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and critical care practices is essential. Experience with laboratory procedures, X-ray operation, pet grooming, dog training, and pet care is preferred. Strong understanding of animal restraint techniques and the ability to handle dogs safely during examinations or treatments. Ability to perform animal catheterization and maintain aseptic technique in clinical settings. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and educate pet owners about animal care needs. Veterinary technician experience or relevant certification is a plus but not mandatory; enthusiasm for learning is important.
