Responsibilities Assist with animal husbandry tasks including feeding, cleaning enclosures, and monitoring health status. Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to minimize stress and injury. Support veterinary staff with medication administration, sample collection, and basic procedures such as catheterization. Maintain accurate records of animal treatments, behaviors, and medical histories in compliance with clinic protocols. Prepare animals for examinations or surgeries by ensuring proper positioning and aseptic techniques. Support front desk duties such as scheduling appointments and managing client communications when needed. Assist with laboratory procedures including sample processing and basic diagnostic tests to aid in diagnosis and treatment. Requirements Previous kennel experience or animal handling background preferred; strong animal husbandry skills are essential. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, physiology, and laboratory techniques is highly desirable. Experience with pet care, dog handling, equine care or veterinary clinic operations is a plus. Ability to perform animal restraint safely across various species including dogs, cats, and horses. Familiarity with medication administration protocols and aseptic techniques required for clinical procedures. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with veterinary teams and support staff. Must be detail-oriented with the ability to follow precise instructions for medical procedures and record keeping.
