Job Description

Must love cats! Veterinary Assistant or Licensed Veterinary Technician position OR for Customer Service Representative at All About Cats Veterinary Hospital in Southwest Las Vegas. Feline practice is a dream, there's no barking, no heavy lifting and cats behave better without the fear of dogs. We are seeking candidates who have previous experience or training in the vet field. Full or part time is available with rotating weekend shifts required. (more description of our schedule can be found in the screening questions for this ad.) All About Cats is a special practice with exceptional doctors and staff who are passionate about our feline patients and dedicated to offering our patients and clients the best of care. This job is a long-term commitment as building strong relationships with our clients, patients, and fellow staff members is important to us. Job description includes but is not limited to interacting with clients in person and over the phone, assisting the veterinarians with medical and surgical treatments and outpatient services, care taking of patients and boarding cats, as well as cleaning and organization of the workplace. This is a great opportunity for a person who enjoys working with cats and their owners and enjoys the challenge of medical cases. Duties for veterinary technician will include maintaining medical records, preparing the surgical suite and surgical patients, filling prescriptions, performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging, and providing compassionate care and a home away from home for boarded and hospitalized pets. For Customer Service Representatives there is some overlap of the above duties as well as answering phones, scheduling appointments, confirming appointment, charting, and checking clients in and out. Are you licensed by the Nevada board of Veterinary Medical Examiners as a Veterinary Technician or a Veterinary Technician in Training? Please review our schedule below and tell us about any other commitments that may affect your work availability. Our shifts are usually 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Full-time employees typically work four weekday shifts per week (they are not set and may rotate,) and part-time employees typically work three shifts per week. Both part-time and full-time employees are also expected to help cover weekend care for our boarding cats. Weekend responsibilities are shared among the team, occur approximately once a month, and may require up to 10 hours, and several visits, over a weekend depending on the number of cats boarding.
