We are a growing, three doctor small animal practice in Sparks, NV seeking a passionate and dedicated Licensed Veterinary Technician or Technician in Training to join our dynamic veterinary team. This vital role involves providing exceptional patient care, assisting veterinarians with medical procedures, and ensuring a positive experience for our clients and their pets. Health, Dental, & Vision Insurance 401K plus Matching up to 4% Supplemental Insurance Scrub Allowance Yearly Paid Time Off Product and Service Discounts Paid Licensing Responsibilities Induce patients for surgery Place catheters Perform laser therapy Perform dental prophylaxis Administer vaccinations Prep/maintain hospitalized patients Take radiographs and monitor anesthesia Clean cages and weigh animals Sterilize equipment and clean examination tables and rooms Safely restrain animals utilizing fear free techniques as needed. Soothe upset or frightened animals Administer medication prescribed by Veterinarians (e.g., by mixing it with food) Observe animal behavior or health condition and report to the Veterinarian Help in cases of emergencies Handle administrative duties such as scheduling appointments or calling patients in the examination room by priority Keep accurate records and logs Educate pet owners on nutrition and healthcare Skills Proven experience as a licensed technician, VTIT, or similar position working with animals (preferred) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Patient and caring personality Ability to follow instructions Detail oriented and hardworking Comfortable being around animals (cats and dogs) Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (e.g., lift up to 40 lbs.)
