  • Full-time Veterinary Technician Join Our Collaborative & Compassionate Team at SPCA Westchester SPCA Westchester is seeking full-time and part-time Veterinary Technician(s) to join the dedicated and compassionate medical team at Cody's Clinic.
We are looking for experienced Veterinary Technicians who thrive in a collaborative environment and are passionate about animal welfare and community impact. Schedule Full-time preferred Part-time candidates encouraged to apply Flexible scheduling options may be available Position Summary Veterinary Technicians play an essential role in supporting our veterinarians, caring for patients, and collaborating with fellow team members to ensure the best possible outcomes for the animals we serve. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians with surgeries, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, and post-operative care Provide compassionate nursing care and monitoring for clinic and shelter animals Perform routine laboratory testing, cytologies, fecal exams, and parasite control Administer medications, vaccinations, sedatives, IV fluids, and treatments as directed Intubate patients and place catheters Monitor anesthesia inductions, surgical procedures, and patient recovery Maintain accurate medical records and controlled substance logs Order and organize medical supplies Safely restrain animals for examinations and treatment using low-stress handling techniques whenever possible Support the daily care and feeding of sick, quarantined, and recovering animals Work collaboratively with veterinarians, assistants, and shelter staff to provide exceptional patient care Perform additional veterinary technician duties as needed Qualifications NYS Veterinary Technician License required 2-3 years of veterinary technician experience preferred Strong working knowledge of veterinary technician principles, practices, and techniques Strong knowledge of anesthesia inductions, monitoring, and recovery Excellent oral and written communication skills Positive, collaborative team attitude and the ability to work effectively with the public and fellow staff members Ability to relate to and care for all types of animals in accordance with accepted animal care practices Compassionate, dependable, organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment Passion for animal welfare and community service Why Join SPCA Westchester? Salary:
$25-35/hour to commensurate with experience.
