Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic veterinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of two years of veterinary technician experience, demonstrating proficiency in animal care, clinical procedures, and client communication. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your expertise in animal handling, laboratory procedures, and veterinary critical care will contribute significantly to patient outcomes and client satisfaction. The successful applicant will be committed to providing compassionate pet care while supporting veterinarians with technical procedures and animal management. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians with clinical examinations, diagnostic procedures, and surgical interventions, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and safety protocols. Perform laboratory tests, including blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostic procedures to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage animal husbandry duties such as feeding, grooming, and maintaining cleanliness of treatment areas. Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques, including dog handling, animal restraint, and animal catheterization when necessary. Maintain detailed medical records, documenting treatments, laboratory results, and patient progress accurately and efficiently. Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and assisting with pet grooming and oral care routines. Operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines while ensuring safety standards are met for both animals and staff. Contribute to veterinary critical care efforts by monitoring hospitalized patients, administering medications, and providing supportive treatments. Assist with pet care education for clients on topics like pet grooming, animal physiology, and general animal husbandry practices. Collaborate with team members to ensure a high standard of animal care and a positive environment for both pets and staff. Experience Minimum of two years of veterinary technician experience in a clinical setting. Proven proficiency in kennel experience, animal handling, and pet care routines. Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques. Experience with laboratory procedures including blood analysis and diagnostic testing. Familiarity with veterinary critical care protocols and emergency response procedures. Hands-on experience with dental terminology, pet grooming techniques, dog training basics, and X-ray operation is highly desirable. Experience or additional species-specific skills are considered an advantage. $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
