About Us:

Genesee Valley Equine Clinic is an intermediate veterinary facility serving the horses of the greater Rochester area doing ambulatory, emergency, and referral work.

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for horses, a "helper mentality," and possess a strong knowledge of veterinary practices and procedures. We are willing to train a new LVT as well.

Responsibilities:

Assist veterinarians in examinations (both hospital and ambulatory) and surgical procedures Perform laboratory tests Submit lab work to referral laboratories, ensuring accurate detail and history Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian Handle and restrain horses during procedures Maintain accurate medical records and ensure proper documentation of treatments Client communication regarding patient status, prescription requests, and medication administration as dictated by veterinarian.

Schedule:

Four-day set schedule Rotating weekends Rotating holidays

Requirements:

Degree in Veterinary Technology from an AVMA-accredited institution.

NYS Veterinary Technician License Preferred:

Proficiency in animal handling, particularly equine handling Knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment Technical skills such as IV catheter placement, anesthetic monitoring, and artificial insemination.
