Job Description

Are you the person that doesn't leave the room screaming when a snake enters? Have you ever received affection from a rat (or would like to!)? Would you like to learn how to anesthetize a ferret? Have you always been interested in learning about exotic nursing care. Our well-established exotics practice is looking for YOU! We are seeking the right candidate to join our team as a Registered Veterinary Technician. No experience required with exotic species, we will train the right candidate. Must be able to travel to both locations- Highland heights and Norton.

EXOTICS VETERINARY TECHNICIAN
The Exotics Veterinary Technicians ensure quality care in all aspects of the Exotics Department. Their daily workflow includes assisting doctors with scheduled appointments, procedures, anesthesia, performing treatments on inpatients, collecting, running and submitting diagnostics. Responsibilities. Provide exceptional partnership and support for our exotics doctors and exotics nursing teams. Primarily responsible for all aspects of exotics patient care. Collecting vitals on patients. Performing treatments on inpatient exotics / wildlife species. Assisting DVM with advanced diagnostics and procedures with exotic / wildlife species. Administer anesthesia for exotic / wildlife species, while maintaining the highest standards in quality care. Always seeking to advance knowledge, skillset and efficiency in exotics veterinary medicine. Responsible for client education and animal husbandry for our patients' families. Works well with a like-minded team, working towards the goal of providing the gold standard in exotics care in our communities through extraordinary skills in teamwork, and situational awareness . •Metropolitan is an equal opportunity employer.
