Job Responsibilities Patient Assessment :
Obtain and record patient histories, vital signs, and weights; assist in physical exams.
Nursing & Treatments:
Administer medications, vaccines, and fluids; place IV catheters; perform venipuncture and nail trims.
Anesthesia Support:
Prepare and monitor patients during anesthetic procedures; maintain monitoring logs.
Surgical Assistance:
Prep surgical suites, scrub in, and assist the veterinarian during procedures.
In-House Diagnostics:
Collect and process samples; run bloodwork, urinalysis, fecals, and cytology.
Radiology:
Take and position digital radiographs; safely operate X-ray equipment per safety protocols.
Dental Care:
Perform dental cleanings under anesthesia and assist with oral health procedures.
Client Education:
Walk clients through discharge instructions, medication guidance, and follow-up care.
Medical Records:
Maintain accurate, up-to-date records using Pulse practice management software.
Inventory & Compliance:
Monitor and restock supplies; assist with OSHA compliance and safety standards.
Patient Care & Handling:
Provide compassionate low-stress handling for patients of all sizes and temperaments.
Kennel & Recovery:
Monitor hospitalized and recovering patients; maintain a clean and safe environment.
