Job Description
Registered Veterinary Technician needed at a small animal veterinary clinic - We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician for our practice that treats small animals. Our veterinary clinic opened in September of 2020 and recently expanded with construction for a larger facility. We are located in the Monroe area. We provide quality medical care to cats and dogs in a relationship style of veterinary medicine. We are located conveniently off of the I-75 exit of Route 63, near the outlet malls. The community is continuing to grow and we hope to establish a client base that is enjoyable to work with and serve. Candidates must have a valid license as a Registered Veterinary Technician. Candidates must have a competent skill level in the following: to be able to clean and disinfect exam rooms, restrain patients, assist in surgery and dental cleanings, perform radiographs, understand lab test to perform and how to perform them, understand medications and administer medications orally and/or injections, be able to provide client education on the home care of their pets after a medical procedure. Individuals must have a positive attitude and have strong communications skills; be able to work as a team in a growing work environment; must possess the required knowledge to work efficiently with the veterinarian and other team members on medical and surgical procedures. Technicians may also have appointments for blood draws, anal gland expressions, nail trims, and help collect urine or fecal samples on patients. Team members may be asked to do email communications and phone calls to communicate pertinent information to clients. This position will be for day shifts and one to two Saturdays a month. Saturdays may only be half day appointments. There are no on-call hours. You also will receive a set day off a week to have a work-life balance. Candidates must complete an application and provide a resume and references. We will also consider graduates who are waiting to pass their state boards. Salary is based on level of experience and benefits offered are discussed at the interview.
