Kennel Technician

In this energetic role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for animals while supporting veterinary staff with essential husbandry and clinical tasks. Your dedication will help ensure that every animal receives compassionate care and that our clinic operates smoothly and efficiently. Duties Provide high-quality animal husbandry, including feeding, cleaning, and monitoring the health of animals in the kennel area. Assist with animal restraint during examinations, treatments, and procedures to ensure safety for both animals and staff. Administer medications and treatments accurately under veterinary supervision, following aseptic techniques and veterinary protocols. Support veterinary technicians and veterinarians with clinical tasks such as animal catheterization, laboratory sample collection, and basic medical procedures. Maintain detailed records of animal care, medication administration, and treatment progress in accordance with clinic policies. Handle animals with gentle care, demonstrating expertise in dog handling, animal physiology, anatomy knowledge, and restraint techniques. Support front desk operations by managing pet intake and discharge processes, scheduling appointments, and communicating with pet owners professionally. Requirements Prior kennel experience or animal care background preferred; experience in veterinary clinics or animal shelters is highly valued. Strong knowledge of animal husbandry practices, including pet care, feeding routines, and cleanliness standards. Experience working with veterinary terminology, critical care procedures, and laboratory processes is advantageous. Ability to handle a variety of animals confidently using proper restraint techniques; experience with dogs and other species such as equines is a plus. Familiarity with medication administration protocols, aseptic techniques, and basic laboratory procedures. Excellent animal handling skills combined with a compassionate attitude toward animals of all temperaments. Knowledge of veterinary clinic operations including front desk responsibilities like pet check-in/out and client communication.
