Full Job Description Who We Are :
Sadie Veterinary Urgent Care is a women-owned, independently operated veterinary clinic in the Montavilla neighborhood of SE Portland. We opened our doors in the fall of 2022 with an amazing start-up crew, and we're now looking to grow our team with the addition of another licensed veterinary technician. The Position :
We're seeking a certified veterinary technician to join our team. This is a full-time position (approximately 36 hours/week). We are open to discussion of schedules. Some late-evening and weekend availability is required.
Essential Duties:
The ideal candidate will be able to: Demonstrate proficiency with triage, medical math, animal handling, radiography, collecting laboratory specimens, running in-house laboratory tests, IV catheter placement, IV fluid administration, general nursing care and patient monitoring, monitoring of patients under sedation and anesthesia, administration of oral, injectable, and topical medication, and other tasks related to patient diagnosis and treatment Make accurate and efficient medical record entries in the practice management software Communicate comfortably with clients regarding their pet's health Communicate comfortably with clients regarding financial aspects of care Assist veterinarians with euthanasia and preparation of animals for cremation services Display flexibility in working with the entire clinical team to achieve optimal workflow Ability to lift and carry animals and inventory < 40 lbs, ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time Full job description to be provided prior to interview
Qualifications:
Active CVT license Two years of experience working as a CVT (or equivalent experience working as an unlicensed assistant prior to CVT licensure), preferably in an emergency or urgent care setting Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with a diverse population Dependable attendance Basic working knowledge of computer software programs
