Job Description

Technician Ad •Anesthesia experience required•$16-$23/hr, based on experience.

Performancereview after 90 days with potential for wage adjustment. •Must be available between the hours of 7am and 7pm. •A small animal, one doctor veterinary practice, located in the Mahoning Valley, is looking to fill a part-time (could become full-time in the future) veterinary technician position. Responsibilities Include:
Assist veterinarians with routine appointments, surgeries, and patient care. Collect and process diagnostic samples, administer medications, and prepare for surgeries. Proficiency in administering anesthesia and monitoring during surgical procedures Record detailed patient histories and fill prescriptions. Knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment Take radiographs, including dental X-rays, and perform ultrasonic dental cleanings. Monitor general anesthesia, dress wounds, and assist with procedures like catheterization and ear flushes. Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments, equipment, and treatment areas. Educate clients on preventive care, dental hygiene, nutrition, and more. Collaborate with the team to create a positive work environment and assist with onboarding new employees. Champion the company brand by promoting services like the importance of annual exams, dental cleanings, and our retail offerings. Strong communication skills for interacting with pet owners and team members Experience in animal restraint techniques. Perform animal restraint and handling during examinations and procedures
What We're Looking For:
Licensure Required:
Veterinary Technician licensure in this state
Experience:
1-2 years of clinical experience preferred.

Physical Stamina :
Ability to lift 40+ lbs. and work in a fast-paced, sometimes emotionally demanding environment.
