The ideal candidate will possess a passion for animal care and a strong foundation in veterinary practices. As a Certified Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to animals. This position requires a combination of technical skills, compassion, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures Perform diagnostic tests, including laboratory work and X-rays Administer medications and vaccinations as prescribed Monitor animal patients during procedures and recovery Provide proper restraint techniques for animals during examinations Maintain accurate medical records and documentation Educate pet owners on proper animal care and health maintenance Ensure cleanliness and organization of the veterinary facility, including adherence to aseptic techniques Handle various animal species with confidence, including dogs, cats, and small pets Support kennel operations, including feeding, grooming, and exercising animals Skills Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal anatomy Experience in animal husbandry and handling techniques Familiarity with dental terminology related to veterinary care Proficient in laboratory procedures and diagnostics Ability to perform animal catheterization and manage critical care situations Understanding of animal physiology to assist in patient assessments Excellent communication skills for educating clients on pet health matters
Wage Range:
$17.00 - $22.00/hour for CVT based on experience and qualifications.
