Job Summary Join our team as a Veterinary Technician, where your passion for animal care and technical expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners. In this energetic role, you will provide essential support to veterinarians, ensuring smooth clinic operations while delivering compassionate, high-quality care. Your skills in animal handling, laboratory procedures, and veterinary terminology will be vital in creating a positive and efficient environment for both animals and clients. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing animals and equipment. Perform animal restraint and handling using safe and humane techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff. Conduct laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostics to support accurate diagnoses. Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures like animal catheterization and wound management to prevent infection. Support pet care activities including grooming, feeding, administering medications, and monitoring recovery. Take and process X-ray images, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed. Manage kennel duties by cleaning, feeding, and monitoring animals housed on-site or in care. Assist with dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and supporting cleaning or extraction processes. Handle animal husbandry tasks for various species including dogs and cats, demonstrating animal physiology knowledge. Requirements Proven kennel experience with a strong understanding of animal husbandry practices. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and physiology to assist effectively in clinical settings. Experience with veterinary critical care procedures and laboratory testing is highly desirable. Skilled in dog handling and animal restraint techniques. Ability to perform animal catheterization safely while maintaining aseptic technique standards. Familiarity with X-ray operation, veterinary equipment maintenance, and laboratory procedures. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and educate pet owners on pet care needs. A proactive attitude with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
