The role will also involve hands-on animal care, assisting with research-related tasks, and having a solid understanding of euthanasia practices. You'll help with scheduling and support overall clinic operations within an 8-hour shift. They're looking for someone who is a team player, proactive, and eager to contribute in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians with clinical examinations, diagnostic procedures, and surgical interventions, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and safety protocols. Perform animal restraint and handling with confidence, including dog training and pet grooming when necessary, to facilitate examinations and treatments. Manage laboratory tasks such as collecting samples, preparing specimens, and conducting basic tests to support diagnostics. Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments accurately while monitoring patient responses for signs of improvement or adverse reactions. Utilize veterinary terminology effectively when documenting patient records, communicating with team members, and explaining procedures to pet owners. Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and assisting with cleaning, scaling, and oral assessments. Operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines with precision, ensuring high-quality imaging for accurate diagnosis. Handle animal catheterization and other invasive procedures following strict aseptic techniques and safety standards. Maintain detailed records of animal care activities, including pet care routines, animal husbandry practices, and treatment plans. Assist in emergency situations involving veterinary critical care by providing timely support under supervision.
Requirements:
2-3 years of hands-on animal research experience 2-3 years of experience in a veterinary clinical setting Skilled in pre- and post-operative animal care, including surgical preparation and recovery monitoring Hands-on anesthesia experience (administration and monitoring) Experience working with rodents, specifically mice and rats Triage experience in a clinical or research environment Comfortable working in environments involving euthanasia procedures
Pay:
$26.00 - $29.00 per hour
