Job Description

Job Summary City Cat Vets is the only privately owned cat only clinic in Philadelphia. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in animal care and veterinary practices, demonstrating both technical skills and a genuine love for cats. This role is essential in providing high-quality care to our patients and supporting the veterinary team in delivering exceptional service. Responsibilities Assist our veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures. Perform in house laboratory tests, including blood work, cytology and digital radiographs. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient. Provide proper animal handling and restraint techniques to ensure safety for both staff and animals. We are a cat friendly clinic so we do not scruff, use muzzles or cat nets. Educate pet owners on animal husbandry, nutrition, and preventive care. Monitor patient vital signs and behavior during surgery and post-op. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Requirements Proven experience in a veterinary setting or completion of an accredited Veterinary Technician program. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and basic laboratory procedures. Proficiency in animal handling techniques, including fractious cat handling skills. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
