PASE is the manifestation of our project to bring together a cohesive group of clinical staff with the pursuit of not only delivering the highest caliber of patient care and client satisfaction, but also prioritizing job satisfaction. Addressing some of the biggest issues in veterinary medicine, we are growing our vision by promoting a model for sustainability, quality of life, and promotion of innovative and progressive medicine outside the confines of a large corporate system. A PASE Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) Technician will work with veterinary assistants, veterinary technicians, veterinarians, and board-certified veterinary criticalists to provide exceptional care for small animal patients undergoing emergency care and hospitalization within a multidisciplinary specialty hospital. Responsibilities to include, but are not limited to: Demonstrating commitment to further education and growth within a teaching environment. Maintaining and growing a proficiency in critical hospitalized patient monitoring, care, and husbandry. Demonstrating proficiency in emergency response, patient evaluation, interpretation of vitals and diagnostic information, and interventional care. Demonstrating proficiency in advanced skills such as placement of central venous catheters, nasogastric tubes, urinary catheters, and other patient access points. Utilizing a deeper working knowledge of medications and their mechanism of action, advanced CRI calculations, as well as advanced knowledge of ECC procedures and potential complications. Monitoring of critical, sedated, or anesthetized patients using advanced monitoring equipment (capnography, telemetry, invasive blood pressure, etc.). Working alongside a board-certified veterinary criticalist to execute a patient's treatment plan with an understanding of disease processes, treatment goals, and advanced patient assessment abilities. Demonstrating ability to effectively and sympathetically communicate with the owners of the critically ill patient. Working with Clinical Managers and Operations Manager to develop individualized critical care management protocols with emphasis on safe, efficient, and progressive medical and technical skills. Maintaining efficient daily flow of hospitalized patient evaluations and treatments, emergency presentations, scheduled and emergency procedures. Demonstrating willingness and ability to train and coach new and developing team members. Preparing, organizing, and maintaining hospital equipment and appropriate inventory stocking.
Schedule:
10 - 12 hour shifts to be discussed (shift differential offered) Holidays Weekend availability (required)
Qualifications/Education/Experience:
Veterinary experience: Minimum of 3 years, emergency and specialty practice preferred. Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT). VTS candidates are highly encouraged!
