Veterinary Technician

We are looking for an experienced veterinary technician for full time employment at a one-doctor practice in Lawrenceville. We are open from 8am to 4pm and almost always leave on time. We are closed on weekends or federal holidays. This is a privately owned, non-corporate clinic.

Applicants must:

Be patient, calm, and compassionate with every pet Be professional in attitude and appearance at all times Be able to use gentle, safe restraint on dogs and cats; be able to lift up to 35lbs. Obtain patient histories and TPRs Perform diagnostic tests such as hematocrits, ear and skin cytologies, and run in-house blood and urine analyzers. Obtain, appropriately align, and restrain for digital X-rays while adhering to safety measures Place intravenous catheters; give IV, IM, and SC injections Perform venipuncture and collect lab samples Induce and maintain general anesthesia while providing close patient monitoring Perform dental prophylaxis and obtain dental radiographs Prep and recover surgical patients Prep and sterilize surgical instruments and packs Intake and discharge surgical patients At times, perform client service duties such as greeting clients, making appointments, answering phones, entering charges, and processing credit card payments Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and professional atmosphere of the hospital at all times Pay rate is negotiable based on work experience and skill level. All records are electronic; we are a paperless hospital. All modern, digital equipment. Dogs and cats only. No walk-ins. Plenty of on-site parking.

Pay:

$19.00 - $24.00 per hour
