Job Description

Client communication is a large part of this job. You must be able to lift 40 lbs and be willing to do physical work. Duties and Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgeries Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian Collect and perform laboratory tests on blood, urine, and tissue samples Monitor anesthesia and assist during surgical procedures Provide post-operative care and monitor recovery of animals Maintain accurate medical records for each patient Perform dental cleanings and assist with dental procedures Educate pet owners on proper nutrition, preventive care, and overall animal health Handle and restrain animals during examinations and treatments Operate and maintain diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines and blood analyzers Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment Assist with euthanasia procedures and provide compassionate support to grieving pet owners Manage inventory and order supplies for the clinic Conduct triage and provide emergency first aid to animals
