Job Description

We're Not Your Typical Veterinary Hospital — And This Isn't Your Average Vet Tech Role We're a privately owned, AAHA-accredited veterinary hospital in beautiful Summerville, and we're looking for a skilled, compassionate, and dependable veterinary technician (licensed or not) to join our team. If you're the kind of person who… Can comfort an anxious pet with gentle hands and a calm voice, Reassures nervous pet parents with clear communication and empathy, Keeps your cool in the middle of a busy shift and always seems to be one step ahead …then you might be exactly who we're looking for. This role is so much more than assisting in exams and monitoring anesthesia. As a vet tech, you'll be the backbone of patient care — supporting doctors, guiding clients, and making sure every pet receives the highest standard of medicine from start to finish. Because all of our technicians are cross-trained, this position also includes reception responsibilities, including client check-in, check-out, phone support, and helping maintain the smooth flow of the hospital. If you love medicine, teamwork, pets, and people — and thrive in the fast-paced rhythm of hospital life — we'd love to meet you.
What You'll Be Doing:
As an integral member of our medical team, you'll play a vital role in both patient care and client communication.
Your day-to-day will include:
Providing compassionate nursing care to patients (restraint, treatments, venipuncture, catheter placement, medication administration, etc.) Monitoring patients before, during, and after procedures with vigilance and accuracy Assisting veterinarians in exams, diagnostics, surgery, and dentistry Educating and supporting clients with treatment plans, discharge instructions, and preventive care guidance Ensuring medical records, inventory, and treatment areas stay organized and efficient Supporting reception operations as part of our cross-trained team — answering phones, scheduling, checking clients in and out, and helping create a seamless experience from the moment a client walks in to the moment they leave You're a great fit if: You're passionate about delivering gold-standard care to pets and exceptional service to clients You thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where no two days are alike You're detail-oriented, dependable, and able to stay calm in high-stress situations You see every interaction — with patients, clients, and coworkers — as an opportunity to make a positive impact You're comfortable rotating between clinical and reception duties and see client communication as a vital part of care This is not the job for you if: You prefer predictable, routine work every day You're not comfortable with the emotional ups and downs of veterinary medicine You'd rather avoid direct client communication You just want a "clock in, clock out" kind of role You're not interested in reception or cross-trained hybrid responsibilities What it's like to work here: Culture isn't just a buzzword for us — it's how we show up for each other, our patients, and our clients. Here's what that means: We lift each other up — teamwork comes before egos. We work hard, but we also laugh hard — because balance matters. We lead with empathy, consistency, and clear communication. We're committed to creating an environment where our team feels supported, valued, and inspired to grow. Work-Life Balance That Actually Works We're open 7am•Midnight, Monday through Saturday, and our shifts run on a 1-2 week rotation with 12-hour shifts. Don't worry — that means you'll work just 3 days a week and have 4 days off to recharge. Here's how the shifts break down:

Mid:
8:30am•9:30pm
Second:

We want to meet the person behind the paper, and we can't wait to hear your story. We love pets, but we don't love playing phone tag. Please don't call the clinic about this job—instead, send your resume (with references) to JRS.FAH@gmail.com or drop it off in person.
